Bug Description

This is a request for a system-wide audio equalizer and sound effects.

There is a HowTo for something like that here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578

But I think this feature should be provided out of the box, with a nice UI, both Gnome and KDE.

Here is the PulseAudio SystemEqualizer wiki page:
http://pulseaudio.org/wiki/SystemEqualizer

There are packages available for Karmic.

on the other hand this could have been kept as a wishlist priority bug here so everyone interested could subscribe and keep track. invalidated reports kind of tend to get lost

I'm not so sure if this would be the suitable place for tracking this kind of discussions, since this is the bug tracker, meant for tracing defects, not for feature requests.
If we would start with marking feature requests and suggestions valid as well we'd have a lot more bugs showing up in the search results and statistics, making life of the people who have to work with the bugs harder. Ubuntu Brainstorm should be the first place people with suggestions and ideas go to when they want to share something.

This report won't be used to keep track of the proposed idea, so it has no use to subscribe.
Wishlist bug reports request smaller changes, they're not for large ideas that are still vague.
