Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Youtube videos still play, but they are slow loading and poor performance. I can't get any other videos to play anymore. They look like they are loading, but never actually play. This is true for any internet video, but the site I went to is www.doctorjuiceplus.com

I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, but i loaded Amarock and then installed a plugin to play mp3 by typing:

 sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg

I am not sure if this can affect firefox, but it is the only thing i can think of. I already tried to reload the flash player from adobe, but that didn't help.

Since the last post, I have tried to remove the non free one and give Gnash a try. I get the same result. Poor Youtube performance, and no function anywhere else.

4 sites that do not work are

doctorjuiceplus.com (there is a video in the middle of the front page that you can click on) It just looks lik it is perpetually loading, but never plays.

chirofraudvideo.com

hulu.com

jibjab.com (none of the videos work)

Does this bug still appear in Ubuntu 9.10 or 10.04?
Have you tried to remove gnash first, and then reinstall flashplugin-nonfree?

This bug no longer happens. A simple reinstall did not fix it. I needed to remove-purge both gnash and the flashplugin-nonfree, then reinstalled the flashplugin-nonfree only. That fixed the problem. I would prefer to use free software, but in this case the non-free flash plugin seems to have much better performance. Thank you for the follow up.
