Bug Description
Binary package hint: vlc
When watching a video in fullscreen (with XVideo output), the screen flickers for a fraction of a second and displays the desktop background whenever a notification (using Jaunty's new notify-osd) is spawned. This interrupts the user experience, and should be fixed, if at all possible.
vlc:
Installed: 0.9.9a-

I am currently using the medigeek PPA to integrate the non-fullscreen output to the VLC window, although I don't think this changes things, as the bug should be reproducible in the vanilla install of VLC on Jaunty.
