Bug Description

OS/Ubuntu 9.04
Kile/1:2.1.0~svn942443-0ubuntu4

Observed behaviour:On the first launch of Kile, menu items appear without their icons - on second launch they appear.
Expected behaviour: Icons should appear on first launch.

Not sure if this is specific to Ubuntu - but I would suspect it is?

affects: ubuntu → kile (Ubuntu)

Can you try to reproduce the bug?
1. Close kile
2. Delete or move ~/.kde/share/config/kilerc and ~/.kde/share/apps/kile
3. Start kile again

Does it now also happen

No that doesn't reproduce it. I have also tried apt-get remove kile,apt-get install kile, but that also didn't reproduce the bug. I have seen this on two different installs of Ubuntu 9.04 on separate machines. I will install another virtual machine running Ubuntu 9.04 tmrw and will report.

@David
Where you able to reproduce it on a new install?

Changed in kile (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

I also have this bug, except that my icons did not appear on restart. I have a fresh installation of ubuntu 9.04, 64 bit version. I haven't installed KDE, just Kile and whatever its dependencies are in Synaptic.

I tried moving the files as noted above but it didn't make any difference.

What does
apt-cache policy kdebase-runtime
spit out?

Also
dpkg -s kde-icons-oxygen | grep Status

apt-cache policy kdebase-runtime gives:

kdebase-runtime:
  Installed: 4:4.2.95-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 4:4.2.95-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 4:4.2.95-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://cz.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     4:4.2.2-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages

And dpkg -s kde-icons-oxygen | grep Status gives:

Package `kde-icons-oxygen' is not installed and no info is available.
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.

So, I tried installing KDE (using the kde-minimal option in synaptic) and also kde-icons-oxygen, after which I get

kde-icons-oxygen | grep Status
Status: install ok installed

But still no icons.

I spoke too soon. I have closed and re-opened kile a couple of times since installing kde-icons-oxygen and now they appear.
