Bug Description
On Intel Macs, the HFS+ journal header (NOTE not the journal info block) appears to be little-endian, not big-endian. It has an endianness marker, so that's OK; however parted can't cope with this being little-endian. We need to figure out what else is little-endian and make parted byte-swap appropriately.
