The latest version available on http://www.transmissionbt.com/ is 1.61

We can only backport from newer releases of Ubuntu, and karmic does not have 1.61 (or a newer version in it). Marked Invalid, feel free to reopen when karmic or a newer release has the version you want.

This should be fine, but please retest with the current version in Karmic. I'm subscribed to this bug directly and will give a quick approval if it tests out.
