Jaunty: Pidgin can't start properly after crash

When I try to restart Pidgin after a crash, the contact window appears but remains empty (not even menu items are shown).

When looking at the indicator applet, in the entry where Pidgin would normally be show, it states " :1.5978 ".

The only way to get Pidgin back working normally is to restart the current session. (Loging out and back in)

I have run pidgin in debuging mode when the problem occurs.

Nothing happens after the dns query. Pidgin remains inactive with an empty window with no elements.
