Bug Description

During a UDS, the schedules keep changing. People need to reload their daily (or whatever) schedule pages. It would be handy if the page contained some ajaxy stuff to check for updates and then warn the user in some manner.

I sat down and thought of how this bug could be fixed. I don't see us being able to fix this in the way summit works right now. For a start, summit needs an API that can be queried via Javascript that checks if there has been any updates since the last refresh of the page and if there is, show a pop up. To notify individual session changes would take more work.

But, this is the way ahead. I'm not sure we can get this one in the oneiric cycle, but this is definitely on our radar.

Changed in summit:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Triaged

For this, can we just set the default to reload every x minutes instead of the current way its done where there has to be a string in the url to call the reload?
