Bug Description

Symtom
Installing 9.04, the installer stops at 82 % when it is "searching for file mirror". ( i waited for 30 minutes )

I was finally able to install, by pressing:

ctrl + alt + f2
sudo killall http
sudo killall http , yes twice, it stopped again right after at another process ( sorry forgot name of that one )

then the installer was able to completed.

then in firefox i was able to access google.com but not any other homepages i tried. how ever i was able to ping ... any site .. and nslookup was also working.

with help from #ubuntou channel on freenote i was able to after several houers of looking around one guy was talking about MUT, and i founed that after changing MUT from 1500 to 1400 i was then able to access all pages again.

now this fixed the internet access, and i suspect this was also the problem causing the installer to fail ... so i tried to install again, this time with the eth0 disconnected. and that worked without any problems.

i am not a linux pro or anything so i dont know if you need anymore system info or anything like that. then you welcome to let me know.

It would help us a lot if you could test a current, supported, Ubuntu version. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 380633, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
