Bug Description
I'm going to edit the description to make this bug more focused, and reopen it. Sorry for the confusion.
We all know that these icons are too orange. However, there is a specific problem I'd like to draw attention to: in the Places menu and on the Desktop, the orange icons appear alongside a number of white/silver/blue icons, and this causes a striking contrast which can only be described as a bug. I'll attach a screenshot, note the conflict between these colours.

I've noticed other bugs on this topic have been closed for including too many bug reports in one. Please let me know if I should file these separately, I will be happy to do so. If necessary, treat this report as dealing with the keyboard/trash can problem.
