Accessing GMail via IMAP fails to update inbox. retrieve messages

When accessing GMail's IMAP store, Evolution will stall indefinitely (does not hang, just stall) with messages:

Retrieving message XXXX (...) and Checking For New Mail (...) in the bottom task bar.
Evolution retrieved the initial mbox and structure just fine.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one, it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Thanks for the report, may you please run evolution as: CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution >& evo.log and attach the resulting file to the report? could you also test the same with jaunty? thanks in advance.
