Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
On a fresh install of Kubuntu Karmic with KDE 4.3 Beta 2, there are two graphics operations which are quite slow. The first one is the translucent selection rectangle on the desktop. In Beta 1, it was smooth and fast. Now (with Beta 2) when any Icons are selected, it becomes much slower and jerkier. The other problem is that the file selection indicator in Dolphin lags very far behind the mouse. This bug has always been present in KDE 4.3.

I have just done a complete reinstall of my system, and now the laggy Plasma issue is gone. However, in Dolphin, the file selection backgrounds in the main pane remain laggy for 1-2 minutes after dolphin has been started. After that, they become smooth again. The other mouse-over effects (in the Folders and Places boxes) are always smooth.
