Long descriptions are badly truncated

Bug Description

When moving the mouse over the package list, some long description is truncated and last characters in the string are (randomly?) replaced by some other char.

This bug happens on ubuntu/dapper (synaptic version 0.57.8)

I uploaded a new 0.57.8ubuntu8 that should fix the problem. Please let me know if that version works better for you.
