Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

Copying audio disc, everything progresses as expected until status indicates 99% done and finalizing. After several seconds, the tray opens by itself and then closes. Brasero continues to run, and next shows status at 100% with a successful copy. System reports the disc is empty. Ran correctly the first time I ever used it (recovering Windows user) but then failed 4 times in succession. Using Ubuntu 9.04, Brasero 2.26.1.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/brasero
Package: brasero 2.26.1-0ubuntu1
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: brasero
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686

I'm getting exactly the same behaviour; the tray opens about 3 min after "finalizing" starts, then completes with "success" message about 2 min later, but the disk is completely unusable.
Same thing happens when burning a dvd, except can slow dvd burn speed down to x8 and so far has worked ok.
I'm using Karmic and Ext4, did not see this problem with same hardware using Jaunty and Ext3.
Can dual boot using Vista with no problems in burning a cd or dvd.
Thanks,
Bob D

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of brasero is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.
