My notebook starts booting, gets off, and starts after a few seconds again. I got this error with other versions of Ubuntu, too. But not with Vista.
Perhaps a acpi-fix can be done?
I did the following:
# install ''iasl''
# read with "sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.dat"
# disassemble with "iasl -d dsdt.dat"
# compile with: "iasl -sa dsdt.dsl" (at this step errors/warnings will be reported)

I have the same problem and i also search for a solution...
maybe u have already found one...
...vermute mal du bist deutscher ;-)
also ich habe das schon seit gut einem jahr und verweifel so langsam . seit einem jahr jedes mal beim booten habe
ich diesen mist und keiner kann mir sagen woran das liegt, was ich machen könnte, damit es geht...
vielleicht findet ja jemand anders eine lösung dazu...
