Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Hello,

today there has been an update for the xserver-xorg-video-intel packet. This caused my performance to break down immensely. I usually had about 800 fps at glxgears, now it's about 160 fps.

I am using Ubuntu Karmic with kernel 2.6.30-5-generic and the latest updates together with an Intel 945GM graphic card.

Hi secretocean,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

Hello Bryce,

thanks for your feedback.
I've attached the logs you requested.

In the meantime I noticed that through several updates in Ubuntu "karmic", my framerate increased to approx. 400 fps. Although this is an improvement, it's still way below the usual framerate.

Please attach files separately, not as a tarball.

glxgears is not a benchmark, so it is not valid to use it as a measure of performance.

Ok, in that case, this bug report can be closed.

I thought glxgears was especially designed for benchmark purposes. At the moment, the driver is stable and has enough performance for compiz desktop effects.
