Bug Description

Binary package hint: notify-osd

I did a fresh install from the Karmic Alpha 1 cd, and when changing brightness using the fn keys on my laptop, the old notification comes up (centered on the screen, in the bottom half of the screen).

This worked fine in Juanty.

I've been having this problem, too. Also, I don't know if this is a related issue or not, but my brightness will go totally haywire sometimes, and will switch between different brightness levels constantly, forcing me to restart X. I'm using karmic, updated from jaunty, 2.6.30-6-generic. i386 (atom) on an MSI Wind.

This was fixed for me in a recent update. I now see the new notifications again.

I'm using Alpha 3 of Karmic, and this bug is still persistant.

I'm using the generic driver and not the proprietary Nvidia driver.

Ditto; on Alpha 3 this bug seems to have reappeared. I'm using an intel video driver, if it matters.

1.) This is not a notify-osd issue, but a gnome-power-manager one.
2.) Also please see https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/329296/comments/20 for reworked patch and corresponding changelog-entry.
