HDD state is always active/idle

Bug Description

I've got a spare HDD (called hdb1) that never goes standby. I don't know why this is happening now because before, the HDD would sleep after 5 minutes without beeing used.

Now, whenever I "hdparm -C /dev/hdb1", the answer is:
"/dev/hdb1:
drive state is: active/idle"

If I try "hdparm -S1 /dev/hdb1", the HDD turns off and on continually (so I turn off the computer to avoid my HDD beeing blown up).

ive got the same problem. it seems like ubuntu contacts the harddisk every 5 seconds. its a bad bug
