Bug Description

Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 about ubuntu now says 9.04
synaptic 0.62.5
I expected it to upgrade

1st error
Could not install '/var/cache/apt/archives/freeciv-client-gtk_2.1.8-0exp1_i386.deb said it was not in a working state and subprocess new pre-removal script returned exit status (there was a little more but I didn't get it in the screen capture)

2nd error
This was in the terminal when the message came up that said: Could not install the upgrades, The upgrade is now aborted. Your system could be in an unstablestate. A recovery will run now(dpkg --configure -a).

after this there was a message that said the upgrade is completed but there were errors during the upgrade process

Comparable problem here. Had report created and sent:
"This report was created using checkbox-gtk 0.1-0ubuntu10 on 2009-12-16T21:46:28, on Ubuntu 9.04 (i386)."
Should I go on installing Ubuntu 9.10 or wait for solution?
