Bug Description

Notification area applet on the panel often "leaks space", I mean after apper / disappear some notification icons there will more and more space between some icons remains on the notification area. Also gnome-panel is almost unusable with some background image set (or background transparency) since many objects and even notification icons uses the "default" colour instead of the desired one. However this "feature" of colour problem can be used to demonstrate the problem, since if I select such a background you can see some very interesting "one pixel width" lines probably it cause the unwanted space?

As far as I can remember, I've reported similar bugs some time ago but I'm not sure it was in Ununtu bug tracking system at all. Sorry if I duplicate something. Can you mention the bug number(s) describes this problem? Since I would be interested in subscribe to that bug.
