Drag 'n' drop slow

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome

I am using Ubuntu Jaunty, with Nautilus 1:2.26.2-0ubuntu2.

Dragging and dropping anything (files, text, ...) is slow. When I drag an item from any location, it takes 10-15 seconds for Gnome to recognise the drag and actually moving the item to the cursor position. Then I can move it around, but again on dropping it in a different location, it takes the target application 10-15 seconds to recongnise the drop and take appropriate action. This behaviour started shortly after installation, maybe after an update (not sure). Usually after doing 1 drag 'n' drop, similar drag 'n' drop actions work smoothly again. But when starting a new type of drag 'n' drop action, it is slow again.

I expected drag 'n' drop to be smooth and work like before, but it is slow instead.

affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu) → nautilus (Ubuntu)

Thanks for the report, that works fine here, are you using compiz ? does it works fine if you disable it? which video card and driver are you using? do you get the same using another stock user created on your system? Thanks.

No, Assistive Technologies is disabled. I have tried disabling compiz, but the behaviour didn't change. The problem has disappeared though somewhere in June, I can't remember when or why. So I guess this can be closed.
