Bug Description
on a Kubuntu Jaunty with ppa KDE 4.2.3 (can't test it any more on original 4.2.2,but should be the same, can anyone confirm that?) i startet a "sudo kate", and it gave me the following:

which seems ok more or less.
Kate pops up, and another x window comes up (attached as screenshot), saying:
"Could not start ksmserver. Check your installation."
[okay]
When I press [okay] my whole X screen crashes.

I also get a bunch of errors in the term, but I can't reproduce the bug with a fresh kde 4.2 from kubuntu 9.04. (there isn't another x window coming up).
Sorry :(
