Bug Description

I have fresh install of 9.04. I'm using the amd64 version. Everything in the system is up to date. I've also used memtest86+ and everything is ok.

Since install the system freezes right after restart then i make restart of X (ctrl-alt-bakspace) and den it works normally sometimes i have to do couple of restarts of X to get it working. After that system can work normally for few minutes, couple of hours and longest 2 days. When system freezes i have mouse working but i cant start any program bay mouse only if i left terminal working i can type and work in terminal. For example i can open from terminal text file in nano but cant open in gedit.

Hardwer on my sistem is workin fine from version 7.04. Only thing i have installd is

@Jamie. OK so I get your drift. You're saying that Ubuntu should have at least tried a different kernel to see if it resolved the problem, and that we had to do it for them!

I suppose I'm glad that I didn't sit on my hands, like many others here, and did try to resolve it myself so now many will benefit.
