Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I'm trying to update from 8.04 to 9.04 but it crashed the first time and then keeps asking me to do a partial upgrade. The partial upgrade never completes.

'Depends' field, reference to, libavutil - unstripped 49 version contains ')'
dpkg: parse error, in the file" /var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 28075 package 'libsox-fmt-ffmpeg':

keeps repeating

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
