Bug Description

Ubuntu 9.04
avahi-daemon 0.6.23

If the service provider is started after the client ( Ubuntu or Windows XP) services are discovered. But if the service provider is already running then no services are discovered when the client fires up.

"invoke-rc.d avahi-daemon reload" on provider allows service discovery

Removing entries from services directory means service disappears from client almost instantly. Contrawise adding the service definition makes the service appear.

Starting GAIM with a Bonjour user ( on the service provider) , the user appears in GAIM on Windows or another Ubuntu; but the user disappears after a few minutes.

I can confirm this bug.

- Any change made in one of the /etc/avahi-daemon/services/XXXX.service make all the services configured on the provider visible again (form local or from other clients)
- "sudo /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon -reload" has the same effect.
