Bug Description

during the installation of 8.10 i was asked if i wanted to transfer files and settings from my windows partition, so of course i selected it to do so, but when the installation completed i wanted to play music while i finished customizing my desktop and what not.

i went into my storage drive which is completely separate from my windows partition and drive that my Os's are on, and found that 95% of my files had been deleted, they were there before i installed on my Os drive on a separate partition and now they are gone, i attempted to use a recovery tool, recuva and it did not find anything that i had on the drive, it is like it never existed.

now a little mad and at a loss for what happened here i am.

my drives are set up like this.

SATA0 sda1 windows / sda2 linux partitions SATA1 storage

Unfortunately without the log files we have nothing to go on here, so I am closing this report. If you can reproduce it, please attach /var/log/syslog.
