When extrating multiple rar files sound output via pulse stutters

When extracting multiple rar files while playing for example mp3, pulseaudio output begins to stutter, also happens sometimes with only one rar file.
This is a very very annoying behavior, switching to directly output via ALSA fixes the Problem and sound plays smoothly.

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 2.6.28-12-generic
Core2Duo@2.13ghz 4gigs ram

starting rar with nice and/or ionice does not help.

Error connecting to Launchpad: HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized
You have to allow "Change anything" privileges.

Where can i change that.
