[ipw2200] Wireless Network keeps disconnecting/reconnecting

I got my network manager to work properly thru a previous bug report. However, I downloaded the latest set of updates (I believe on 5/8), and that's when I noticed the problem. The wireless card keeps disconnecting and then reconnecting, especially on large down loads. It is most prominent on downloads, the uploads seems much better. I notice it when I test my speed thru (www.speakeasy.net). I don't beleive it did that prior to the update and it never did that in 8.04. I have tried manually setting up the network (interfaces and resolv.conf), tried wicd, did a complete uninstall/re-install of the network manager/ I even downloaded the latest ipw2000 firmware files (3.1). I also set up a ipwconf.conf file with some options and nothing seems to work. I also deleted the nm-applet and can't get it back.

The card is a 2915ABC card using the ipw2200 driver. Where do I go from here? I use this machine for work for remote access, but now it cannot be trusted for long connections/transfers.

I think I may have isolated the problems.

1. I replaced the pci card 2915ABC with an older one that is B only and
uses the IPW2100 driver. The problem still existed.
2. I disabled burst mode on my WRT54G router and it got a bit better.
3. I completely removed the network manager and related items and use
the gnome-network manager (old style like was in 8.04) and it still got
better.
4. Finally, I changed the irq on the pci slot from 11 to 5 and have not
seen the problem since. I figured pretty much everything was routed thru
irq 11, and that couldn't be a good thing. I'm lucky that my T42 allows
you to set irqs on the pci slots/accessories. Most don't.

I have a newer 2915 BG card coming so I will be interested in seeing if
the IPW2200 driver responds the same way.
