Bug Description

Binary package hint: nvidia-180-kernel-source

I got updated to Nvidia driver 180.44 from its previous version 177 during my network update of ubuntu 8.10 to 9 .04.
Screen becomes noisy showing different unwanted patterns and system freezes. This ends with a hard reboot. This mainly happened while playing a game and pidgin pops up a new message.

Hi j.anurag,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I've posted a new version of the -nvidia driver to our xorg-edgers PPA,
would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it
resolves this bug?

Excellent news that it seems fine. We'll go ahead and close it, and you can reopen it (set status back to Confirmed) if you run into the problem again.
