Volume add-on should be able to maximize volume

Bug Description

The summary really says it all. I'd like to be able to summon gnome-do, type max, tab and then have the volume max out.

This would be useful because often I just want it cranked. In a way, this is the opposite of mute volume...

I published a branch of the VolumeControl plugin, which provides the ability to maximize the volume.
Please test it and report back if it worked.

I'd love to. I'm not sure how to check out a branch and test it though...tips?

The easiest way is, if you download the attached file and copy it to the folder:
~/.local/share/gnome-do/plugins-*/addins/Do.VolumeControl*/
Make sure you have the VolumeControl plugin enabled before copying the file and then restart gnome-do. After that you should have a new command called 'Maximize Volume'.

Dont do this, this isn't right. Save that .dll to your desktop, then drag
and drop it onto the Do preferences window. If you had the old volume plugin
installed then you will need to restart Do.

I just did as Alex says above, and it works like a charm. My one suggestion would be to move the volume up over the course of a second or two, so the jumping is minimized. Otherwise, it seems to work perfectly as far as I can tell.

Alex, thanks for merging.

Michael, I don't know of an easy way to fade the volume up with amixer.

This is probably naive, but why not loop over the code that does the 5% increases until it's maxed? Introduce sleep statements if it happens too fast?

You could do this with a shell script or in C#.
But I would suggest using a more sophisticated way to change the volume
than calling amixer. This way you could enable fading and it would be
nice if the volume change would be shown in Notify OSD.
