I was adding this in adept:

I tried opening Terminal

###@###:~$ sudo apt-get update
[sudo] password for ###:
E: Malformed line 54 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist)

I opened Gnome Add/Remove... Package Manager:

Failed to check for installed and available applications

This is a major failure of your software management system. Please check for broken packages with synaptic, check the file permissions and correctness of the file '/etc/apt/sources.list' and reload the software information with: 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get install -f'.

Opened Synaptic:

E: Malformed line 54 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Can you help me? By the way i'm not a geek linux guy, but a final user.

Thanks

I believe you added the line incorrectly.
You can fix this by opening up the sources list in a text editor as follows:
kdesudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list

Line 54 of the file is the line that it is claiming is incorrect.
