Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde4libs

Unlike other bugs about kded4 crashes, this does not happen when running updates. It also has just starting happening today for me. I'm not sure what else I can include, since it appears to happen randomly, ending my session and booting me back to gdm.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: powerpc
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: kdelibs5 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu5

X.org is most likely crashing and bringing kded4 down along with it. Could you please attach/paste the following?

- The output of lspci -vvnn (two v's, not a w)
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old

Thanks in advance.

I just realized what probably caused this bug, given its recent occurance. Per a workaround in bug #345542, I changed "BusType" to "PCI" in xorg.conf in order to get DRI working. It doesn't seem like this should cause X to crash, though.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the last two files should be attached after an X crash, so if these weren't gathered the login after a crash could you please attach them again?

I uploaded the logs after logging into a gnome session immediately after a crash. If it makes a difference, I'll see if I can collect logs after logging into another KDE session following a crash (however, I'm experiencing rather more severe problems with my linux installation at the moment, so it may be awhile before I'm able to do this.)
