Bug Description

Binary package hint: tango-icon-theme

With the Tango icon theme, there is no high resolution (or scalable) Pidgin icon. Pidgin is one of the most frequently used applications so it needs good icons. This is disturbing especially when Pidgin is launched with GNOME Do.

This bug might also be related to the pidgin package.

The pidgin app icon is part of pidgin. Tango does not ship app icons such as this. I believe pidgin 2.6 will include a new icon anyway, that has a 256px high res version as well.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Natty Narwhal. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
