Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-installer

After a brief period of light web surfing in Firefox, CPU often gets very hot; fans spin like mad. When this occurs, npviewer.bin is consistently found to be eating up around 50% of my processing power (see screenshot, attached). It lingers even after Firefox has been closed.

Manually ending process npviewer.bin quickly fixes this, but the problem inevitably returns.

Ubuntu 9.04 x86_64

flashplugin-installer:
  Installed: 10.0.22.87ubuntu2

firefox:
  Installed: 3.0.10+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1

Can you still reproduce this with newer versions of Ubuntu?
