Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

After a recent upgrade of xserver-xorg-video-intel (current version 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9.2) and compiz (current version 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8.1). My Lenovo X61 laptop freezes every once in a while and needs a reboot to fix. The keyboard gets completely disabled but the mouse moves freely. Following is relevant output from lspci-vv. I have currently disabled compiz. Thanks.

Thanks for your bug report. The symptoms provided indicate this is a problem with your video drivers and is being reassigned to the xorg package. For more information on problems with visual effects and video drivers see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/VisualEffects.

Hi dakshay,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
