Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
While running a xenomai/adeos patched kernel (2.6.28.7), the desktop freezes when left unattended after a few minutes. Someone on the xenomai mailing list found that if gnome-power-manager is uninstalled the desktop freezing problem is resolved.
The xenomai/adeos kernel patch requires that kernel config option 'ACPI_PROCESSOR' is disabled. So from the workaround discovered by the xenomai community and the above requirement it seems gnome-power-manager has a problem if this kernel option is disabled.
Unfortunately the proposed workaround by the xenomai community may not be desirable for ubuntu users. In Ubuntu 9.04, uninstalling gnome-power-manager also requires uninstalling 'ubuntu-desktop'.
