Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

I'm not sure if this is a bug in network-manager or the transmission bittorrent client. When I initiate a new torrent with Transmission (e.g. http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/9.04/ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent), the wired network disconnects. I used to use a wireless network card instead and it did the same thing. It happens almost every time, it seems, when there are no torrents running and a new one is added.

The network reconnects shortly beginning the torrent, and is fine afterward.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release the Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
