Bug Description

─:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04

amd64 upgrade from 8.10

After completly uninstalling compiz and deleting all compiz directories I could find, then reinstalling compiz…
see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371973

Compiz would not start, except by running script "compiz-start.sh"

Both screens were reported composited and awn runs on both.

Screen 0 appears to function normally.

Screen 1 now has 2 instead of four workspaces. Opening CompizConfig SettingManager on screen 1 causes it to open on screen 9. Rotate cube via mouse on screen 1 causes it to rotate on screen 0.

Settng the screen numbee in CompizConfig SettingManager appears to have no effect.

Desktop wall does not work in screen 1

Gnome panel workspace switcher shows 2 workspaces in bottom panel and 4 workspaces in right panel on screen 1.
see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129152

On shutdown, screen 0 shows garbage on monitor.

I am able to get compiz running on screen 0 :0.0 by running
"compiz --display :0.0 --only-current-screen --replace &"
and awn by
"DISPLAY=:0.0 avant-window-navigator &"

Hopefully this will not last to long.

I have removed compiz, emerald & awn from my 64bit system.

It wasn't really working and it would cause the system to freeze.

Is anything being done about this?

Created new user.

Installed these packages:
compiz (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8.1)
compiz-fusion-plugins-extra (0.8.2-0ubuntu1)
compiz-fusion-plugins-main (0.8.2-0ubuntu2)
compiz-gnome (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8.1)
compizconfig-backend-gconf (0.8.2-0ubuntu2)
compizconfig-settings-manager (0.8.2-0ubuntu1)
emerald (0.7.2-0ubuntu2)
libemeraldengine0 (0.7.2-0ubuntu2)
python-compizconfig (0.8.2-0ubuntu1)

Cube worked on 0:0 and 0:1

Settings for 0:1 Screen 1 were applied to 0:0

The number of desktops on 0:0 was set to four.

The number of desktops on 0:1 was two and could not be changed.

When Settings manager was opened from menu on 0:1 it would open on 0:0.

When setting manager was opened from 0:1 using Alt-F2-ccsm. it would open on 0:1 and the setting would apply to 0:1

It is not fixed for the actual Jaunty by now I think. There is just a workaround via the PPA-package.
Don't know about the situation in Karmic though.
