GrIP joypad / joystick not working since release 9.04

Bug Description

Since updating from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 via network update my GrIP joypad (gravis xterminator) connected to a soundblaster live gameport isn't detected.

"modprobe grip" loads the module but doesn't detect anything. In 8.10 it was correctly detected as shown in the output of 'dmesg'.

Yeah! It seems to work in lucid:
