Bug Description

Build Version/Date: Jaunty Remix

Environment used for testing: Intel's 2goPC, Asus Eee 901, Logitech hedphones/mike (with supplied USB dongle).

Summary: When using Skype, using headphones/microphone plugged into phone/mic jacks produces very low quality, interruptible conversation, while using USB headphones/mike produces excellent results.

Steps to Reproduce: Go to the "Volume Control" icon in the top panel, right click on it, go to Open Volume Control and make sure that headphones and mike are enabled. Then launch Skype and run it's echo test with and without USB dongle.

Expected result: Quality shouldn't considerably degrade without using USB.

Actual result: It degrades considerably.
