When you open a new window, the launch is delayed and appears in the background blurred and enlarged the desktop background.
also when listening to music, jump if you open other windows.

in general there is a slowdown in opening windows

Do you have a fresh 9.04 install or you upgraded from 8.10? In case you have upgraded have you experienced the same issues in Intrepid?
Could you give us some details of your computer? (CPU, memory, etc)
