Bug Description

Hello all,

first off, if I could then I would assign severity grave to this bug since it's astonishing that it even exists and it's very annoying.

In konsole 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu4 current Jaunty, if you go to Settings -> Configure Shortcuts, you see Previous View / Next View configured as Shift-Left/Right shortcuts with alternate shortcuts being Ctrl-PgDn/PgUp
(this is the status quo with Reset to Defaults already applied).

I don't know who in his right mind decided to use PgDn for previous view, since e.g. in the GUI paradigm of a listbox it's very obvious that the previous entry/ies can be reached via cursor UP or page UP.
Plus, e.g. Firefox uses Ctrl-PgUp for previous tab, too.
And my Acer Aspire One keyboard has the PgUp key positioned at the LEFT side (PgDn at RIGHT side), thus this should be the key to be used for the PREVIOUS view.

Anyway, all in all it probably was a simple reverse buglet and thus it should be very simple to fix, kubuntu or upstream or otherwise.

Thanks,

Andreas Mohr

Konsole shouldn't be using Ctrl+ anything for shortcuts, it used to even give a warning about this. Need to check if this is upstream or in kubuntu-default-settings.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
