Bug Description

Hello,

my laptop is an acer 5720G with a geforce 8400GS. My version of ubuntu is jaunty in 64 bits.
my problem : when i shutdown my laptop, it works normally until i see this strange picture : http://www.casimages.com/img.php?i=09041406554253496.jpg , then after about 10 seconds the laptop shutdown, but not all the times...

In this link (http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=308601) you will find a conversation about that(in french), there is some people who have the same problem. We think it is because of nvidia drivers, but we are not sure(my drivers is the 180.44). I don't know exactly which information you need to help me, so just ask me.

Thank you !

Hi.

I got exactly the same problem...
I also had it under Hardy and Intrepid (I don't remember if it happened on the previous versions of Ubuntu)

My system :
- OS : jaunty 32 bits
- kernel : 2.6.28-12-generic
- Driver nvidia : nvidia-glx-180 (180.44-0ubuntu1)
- Graphic card : Geforce Go 6800
(laptop model : Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 3438G)

I can provide any other information if requested.

Regards,
Enguerran

Note : the problem does not happen if I disable the proprietary nvidia driver. It only happens when nvidia-glx-* is enabled.
