I purchased the Antec Zeris Multimedia Station Basic Reciever with RM100 remote

I expected to install lirc and make a few configuration changes in some files and the remote would let me contol XBMC.
I've been at it for over 24+ hours over 4 days. I just don't understand what I need to do.

I would like this device to be supported out-of-the-box for lirc, and I am posting this bug since it is recommended to do so when trying new hardware/version with LIRC.
