Kubuntu Jaunty Nouveau can't render blank screen saver properly

I'm running Kubuntu Jaunty with Nouveau driver and GeForce 9800GTX+. Whenever the screen saver kicks in, I get random black boxes on the screen, but usually not the whole screen covered with black as expected.

I have blank screen saver selected. I have desktop effects enabled in KDE 4 with XRender.

Hi toni-helenius,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

Also Konqueror suffers from these rendering issues. Web pages and the menu area at random. Usually upper parts of Konqueror. Gets black or magenta-green areas.

I moved to Kubuntu Karmic. It has never Nouveau driver. No more tearing on the blank screen saver, and I haven't seen as much corruption as in Jaunty. None actually if I remember correctly. And 1080p movies are smoother than before (well, never VLC too, so).

But anyway, I'd say that this is fixed in Karmic.
