Bug Description

Binary package hint: bibletime

I just installed bibletime 1.6.5.1-1 on jaunty.

When trying to access some installed bible comments, it crashed with the following log messages:

ERROR: corrupt data during decompression.

Thanks for reporting this.

BibleTime 1.6.5.1 is now very old indeed, as is the SWORD library it uses. BibleTime 2.0-1 packages for Intrepid, Jaunty and Karmic exist in our PPA at http://launchpad.net/~pkgcrosswire/+archive/ppa/

Please uninstall bibletime and then add our PPA to your software sources and install the newer BibleTime from the PPA, and retest. I think this bug will disappear.

Once Ubuntu Karmic is released we will look at getting Bibletime 2.0 packages into intreid-backports and jaunty-backports repositories also, so there will be no need for Intrepid and Jaunty users to use our PPA directly.

Incidentally, the warnings about GerHfa2002 are caused by a buggy SWORD data module. I am not sure if a corrected one has been published by the Crosswire team yet.

Jonathan
