Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I'm using evolution since feisty on the same box (always upgraded to the next version) and currently i'm using Jaunty since beta. This morning evolution (2.26.1-0ubuntu1) freezes on start up. The main window appears but it gets grey and it never recovers. I already moved my .eclipse directory to a backup location but this doesn't change anything.

strace output is attached.

Unfortunately the bug seems to be quite hard to reproduce. I just recognized that there were other helper processes of evolution running (e.g. evolution-alarm-notify). After I killed them evolution is working again.

I would like to attach a backtrace very much, but unfortunately I can't reproduce the problem myself. Looks like some processes blocked Evolution in a very rare startup constellation.

Since the moment I killed all Evolution related processes and restarted Evolution everything works without problems. I think this is one of those problems that can be solved by rebooting the computer.
