Bug Description

Binary package hint: mtop

Terminal from synaptic dialog:
Unpacking mtop (from .../mtop_0.6.6-1.2_all.deb) ...
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up mtop (0.6.6-1.2) ...
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

Errors were encountered while processing:
 mtop

mtop didn't ask for a password and in synaptic, looks like it installed.
If I try to run it as sudo:
 w procs [Access denied; you need the PROCESS privilege for this operation]

I can confirm this problem occurs in the way described. I have pinentry pop up, but nevertheless the password is not considered and the error messages below are reported.

Changed in mtop (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Medium
