Bug Description
Binary package hint: rsyslog
"sudo apt-get install rsyslog" under jaunty forces me to uninstall packages klogd, sysklogd and ubuntu-minimal.
This means rsyslog can't be installed without removing a core metapackage. Dependencies error?
Also, this problem also exist with syslog-ng that someone has taken up in the question #40301.

Thanks for your report, which is also bug 33394. While this bug is still open, we actually don't really consider it a bug that you have to remove ubuntu-minimal in this case - it's entirely OK for you to do so. ubuntu-minimal doesn't ship any actual content, only dependencies.
In any case, rsyslog will be the default system log daemon in karmic, so this won't be an issue for you.
