Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Resizing windows in normal mode(where one sees the content of the window in realtime scale), goes in around 10 fps and applying a resize of a window with any mode takes about a second for it to take effect.

I am running the proprietary ATI drivers

As is visible, the CPU takes the hit on the resize, the drastic change to occupy almost all of the CPU is being done while I play around with a window size without letting go in normal mode.

I have the same problem on my laptop. A get a 1-2 sec glitch when I resize or maximize a window. I also get a <1 sec glitch on popup menus. All this seem to pick the CPU.
I've attached my laptops configuration. Please let me know if you'd like some more info.
